A long time coming...

I have debated starting a blog for a long time now...it's something that has been floating around in my brain since right around the time Bryn was born. I have a long history with writing that really bloomed back in high school. Though my mom always told me that I wrote beautifully, I would often snuff the comments because she obviously had a bias opinion. She was MY MOM! It wasn't until an English teacher nominated me to be the editor of my high school newspaper that I realized my love and talent for writing. I ended up minoring in writing for a few semesters in college with dreams of becoming a news journalist or a sports writer. To make a long story short, life ended up taking me in a different direction but there are often times I have wondered what would have happened if I had continued to follow my dream.

A few weeks ago a friend of mine had her second baby. She shared a beautiful story in her blog about how she and her husband chose the baby's name and then a few days later an equally beautiful post about the birth. I commented on the eloquence of her story and she followed up by asking me if I had ever written Bryn's birth story. I was somewhat embarrassed at the fact that haven't. Actually, I have never written a single thing about my sweet, beautiful, bubbly 21 month old. So with the birth of my second baby a little more than a month away I have finally been given the motivation (or swift kick in the rear) to begin writing about my little family. I will probably skip around a lot between old stories, current family happenings, and my love for "projecting" but I hope you are able to learn about me in a different way through my (somewhat rusty) writing.

So without further adieu...the story of my sweet girl's birth. :)

  1. Yay! Can't wait to follow along as you share Bryn's birth story and other highlights from your life with TWO kids! :) (Does this mean we can expect to read a story about Baby Brother's name here, too? I hope so!)

We should hold each other accountable about writing/blogging! I know it will be much harder for me to write regularly now that I have two little ones!

  2. Kera,,

Super happy to hear you are starting a blog. It can be so difficult to share those special moment and stories with your friends and family when you live so far away. Really looking forward to reading your stories, projections, and overall wittiness. It has been awhile since I blogged as well, and you have inspired me to get back into it.
