The List

I absolutely hate despise New Year's resolutions, let alone making them. They always leave me with gentle disappointment as I part with them as quickly as they are made. Maybe I have never spent enough time thinking things over, making a game plan, or dare I say setting realistic expectations for myself. I find this strange because I have never been one to have commitment issues. Anything I have done in my past I have easily gone "all in" to make things happen...Cheerleading, Jobs, Figure Competitions, Friendships, My relationship with my husband, Losing the baby weight after both kids, raising my kids. Perhaps committing to these things was easy for me because they are things I am (or have been) truly passionate about...

As I reflect back on 2012, the first full year that I was solely a Stay at Home Mom, I found myself thinking how my much passions have changed in the past few years. It's true what "they" say. When you become a mom your whole world shifts. You go from being self-focused to completely focused on the little person (or people) you have created. I am beyond blessed to have the opportunity to stay home with my kids and although it's the hardest and most challenging thing I have ever done, I wouldn't change a second of it.

This year I dont want to set a single goal for myself that's at risk of being unattainable, but I want to make a list of physical things to accomplish (throughout the year) that are both necessary for our family, and also helpful in simplifying my life as a SAHM. Here is what I have come up with....and some of what you can look for in up-coming blog posts...

Goals for our Family -
Monthly Family Date Night
Monthly Date Night with the hubs

Goals for Bryn -
Big Girl Bed (done - check, check!!)
Potty Training
Getting rid of the Pacifier @ Sleep Times.
Continue to encourage age appropriate learning.
Continue to provide opportunities for her to foster old friendships and create new ones.
Teach her how to pray.

Goals for Xander -
Continue nursing until he is 1.
Make all of his baby food.
Work with him on age approproate milestones.
Stress less about the length of his naps and focus more on his happiness.

Goals for Myself -
Plan More, Grocery Shop Less
Blog 6+ times/month
Ask for HELP more frequently (especially during tax season when Tommy wont be around much)
Foster old friendships and create new ones :)
Encourage Tommy both emotionally and spiritually, and to tell him more often how much I appreciate him and what he does for our family.

2013...These are the things I am passionate about...
