Spring Snow

Today the kids and I savored what (we hope) will be the final snow of the season. X went down for his morning nap and instead of having our usual quiet play of "letters," or puzzles, or reading books, I grabbed B's snow pants (out of storage, nonetheless) and we ventured out into the blustery cold to play.

                             We shoveled snow.
We ate snow.
We made "snow"castles.
We threw snow balls.
We (I) ran around the yard pulling (B) in the sled.
We attempted to make  a snowman
(it wasnt quite wet enough)

School was closed for the day so a few neighbor kids came over and joined in our fun as well. When X woke from his nap, B announced that we were "no done play snow, Mommy!" So I did what every Mother of the Year does... I left B out in the yard with the neighbor kids and ran inside to grab X. I threw him in his snowsuit, strapped him in the Ergo and brought him out to join in the fun.

I have to give the X credit...he didn't make a wince at the strong wind gusts and blowing snow. Although he did (for the most part) keep his face buried in my chest. Smart kid!

After another half an hour, the neighbor kids were called in, so we (with our snot covered faces) decided to head in for lunch. We commended our fun morning by eating peanut butter, banana, and honey sandwiches and drinking (what B called ) "cocoa milk" with way to many marshmallows.

Im sad to say that I don't have any pictures of our glorious event because my iphone is currently hanging out in a bag of rice from taking a spin in the washing machine yesterday....but here is a cute one of B from one of our other snow storms this year...

If you live in the Midwest and were blessed by this early spring snow dump, I hope you are able to enjoy it as much as we did!
